Complete crane compliance.
One independent engineering partner.

From the annual CraneSafe inspection to the end-of-design-life major inspection, IDC keeps your fleet compliant with AS 1418 and AS 2550. Our advice is driven by engineering evidence — not by what's convenient for a hire company or manufacturer.

Crane compliance isn't a single event — it's a clock that never stops. Annual inspections every year. A major inspection when the crane reaches the trigger point in its design life. Engineering assessment whenever something changes. IDC covers the whole clock, for the full range of equipment under AS 1418 and AS 2550 — mobile cranes, vehicle loading cranes, overhead cranes, side boom pipe layers, EWPs, and telehandlers.

One partner. No affiliation with manufacturers or workshops. Just engineering.

Every obligation. One partner.

CraneSafe Annual Inspections

Every crane needs an annual inspection. IDC organises the complete process through our network of CraneSafe inspectors around Australia — inspections scheduled around your jobs, done wherever the crane is working, all feeding one fleet-wide compliance record. You'll know years in advance when a major inspection is coming. No surprises, no scramble.

Annual inspections that look ahead

Major Inspections

Most sites won't accept a crane past 10 years without a completed major inspection. What that inspection involves depends on the crane's design working period and how it's actually been used — but most companies default to a costly full overhaul anyway. IDC takes a staged approach that meets your compliance obligations while keeping unnecessary expenditure off the table.

How our inspection process works

Design & Verification

Life extensions, lift plan verification, structural assessments, crane compliance validation, modification design and verification. When you need independent engineering — whether we're doing the design or verifying yours — we do the work properly. Calculations checked, standards cited, defensible under scrutiny.

Our engineering services

Engineering you can defend

Independent

We work for you — not for a manufacturer or workshop.

IDC is not affiliated with any crane brand, hire company, or maintenance provider. When we inspect your crane, our findings are driven by engineering evidence and compliance requirements. Nothing else.

Rigorous

Every report is peer-reviewed and standards-referenced.

Our inspections follow AS 2550 and related standards. Findings are specific, calculations are checked, and our reports are written to stand up to regulatory scrutiny — because your engineers and your insurers will read them.

Straight-talking

We tell you what the crane needs. Not what's easiest to hear.

If a crane is fit for service, we say so. If it isn't, we explain exactly what needs to happen and why. We don't bury findings in jargon or manufacture urgency to justify a bigger scope of work.

Your crane due for a major inspection?

Most owners don't realise they can challenge a single-stage overhaul scope. Our preliminary assessment reviews your crane's actual duty history and determines what's genuinely required — saving time, cost, and unnecessary downtime.
